Within healthcare, digitalisation is increasingly recognised as a key enabler for Europe\u2019s <em>twin transition<\/em> and as an important tool to mitigate the effects of climate change.<\/p>\n<p>While the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the uptake of digital health solutions, many everyday hospital practices remain overlooked in high-level investment and modernisation strategies. One such area is <strong>medication management pathways<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Digitalising hospitals\u2019 medication management pathways can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase the visibility and traceability of medicines<\/li>\n<li>Improve patient safety by reducing medication errors<\/li>\n<li>Optimise the workload of healthcare professionals<\/li>\n<li>Enhance staff wellbeing and resilience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To date, however, major healthcare digital investments have focused largely on workforce digital skills and the infrastructure for the European Health Data Space. This raises an important question: <strong>how can decision-makers at all levels best utilise funding to modernise hospitals and deliver more efficient, high-quality care?<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Event Overview<\/h3>\n<p>This event, organised by the <a href=\"https:\/\/ehma.org\/projects\/epact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>EPACT Alliance<\/strong><\/a>, will launch and discuss EHMA\u2019s policy paper &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/ehma.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0.-Funding-paper_08.2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Funding the Digital Transformation of Hospital Medication Management Pathways<\/a>&#8216;.
