{"id":2582,"date":"2017-12-12T15:45:38","date_gmt":"2017-12-12T15:45:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ehma.org\/?p=2582"},"modified":"2023-11-25T21:20:13","modified_gmt":"2023-11-25T21:20:13","slug":"discover-horizon-2020-work-programme-2018-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ehma.org\/discover-horizon-2020-work-programme-2018-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Discover More About the HORIZON 2020 Work Programme 2018-2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2583\" src=\"https:\/\/ehma.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/h2020.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"454\" \/><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>We are now heading towards the final years of Horizon 2020, the EU\u2019s largest innovation and research funding programme, spanning over 7 years (2014 \u2013 2020) with a\u00a0budget of \u20ac77 billion.\u00a0 The past years of Horizon 2020 have been marked with numerous achievements, including 19 Nobel Prizes and pioneering treatments for chronic diseases.\u00a0<strong>Recently released by the European Commission, the final Work Programme for Horizon 2020<\/strong>, covering the budgetary years 2018, 2019 and 2020, represents an investment of around\u00a0<strong>\u20ac30 billion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Health, demographic change and wellbeing will continue to be an integral focus of the 2018-2020 work programme to tackle the\u00a0<strong>four main healthcare challenges facing Europe<\/strong>: rising healthcare costs due to increasing burden of chronic diseases and the ageing population,\u00a0the influence on health of external environmental factors including climate change, the potential threat of infectious diseases and health inequalities, and access to health and care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2018-2020 Work Programme has devised calls for proposals grouped into the following Call Topics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Better Health and care, economic growth and sustainable health systems<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This call aims at\u00a0reconciling better health and healthy ageing with the need to develop sustainable health and care systems and growth opportunities\u00a0for the health and care related industries. The call revolves around\u00a0five key priority areas: personalised medicine, innovative health and care industry, infectious diseases and improving global health, integration of care, decoding the role of the environment, including climate change, for health and\u00a0well being.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Digital transformation in Health and Care\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This call aims at supporting the management of health and well being\u00a0while empowering the participation of citizens and\u00a0facilitating the transformation of health and care services to more digitised, person-centred and community-based care models, thereby enabling better access to healthcare and the sustainability of health and care systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trusted digital solutions and Cybersecurity in Health and Care<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This call aims at\u00a0multidisciplinary technologies and solutions in health and care with a focus on cybersecurity\u00a0to assure data privacy, security and protection of health and care infrastructures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p>Over the next weeks, EHMA will cover the key areas of the Work Programme providing you with additional details and insights.
