In a challenging environment and current healthcare ecosystem<\/strong>, it is crucial to encourage and enable the development of innovation that helps address sustainability issues and increase patient adherence and empowerment. Digital startups are key to help bring about this development. To bring this topic to the table and involve all the relevant stakeholders, European Health Management Association<\/strong> (EHMA) teamed up with Allied for Startups DTx<\/strong> (AFS DTx) to organise a multi-stakeholder workshop, centred around the question, \u201cHow do startups contribute to creating patient centric and value-based healthcare systems in Europe?\u201d<\/strong>. The event, organised with the support of MSD and Johnson and Johnson, took place on 19th November 2019 at the Microsoft Innovation Center in Brussels.<\/p>\n

The workshop brought together different stakeholders, including policymakers; industry; startups and entrepreneurs; civil society organisations, including patients\u2019 organisations and hospitals and associations representing hospitals<\/strong>. All these stakeholders voiced their concerns and expressed how they hope to contribute to the uptake of new technologies and digital solutions developed by startups that are transforming healthcare.<\/p>\n
